Irem Obtains Environmental Label Certification... "First Case in Domestic Stainless Steel Pipe Industry"
Irem announced on the 27th that it has obtained the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) certification through the ‘Samsung C&T Construction Division, Support for Partner Companies to Obtain Environmental Product Declaration Certification’ project led by Samsung C&T.
The company stated, “This is the first case in the domestic stainless steel pipe industry,” and added, “By acquiring certification for all seven major environmental impact categories, our efforts in eco-friendly management have been recognized externally.”
The Environmental Product Declaration certification is granted by the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute under the Ministry of Environment. It is a system that quantitatively displays environmental information for seven major impact categories throughout the entire lifecycle of products and services (raw material extraction, product manufacturing, transportation, use, disposal).
This allows companies to externally promote the eco-friendliness of their products and services. Certification benefits include ▲support for diversifying product sales channels ▲recommendation for government award programs ▲promotion of certified products and support for discovering distribution and sales channels ▲benefits for using certified products in local government and government-operated programs ▲support for registration as excellent products with the Public Procurement Service.
