Okjeong Lake Sports Center, operated by Gyeonggi Yangju Urban Corporation (President Lee Heung-gyu), announced on the 26th that it received the final “compliance” recognition in December after conducting a follow-up audit in September 2024, following its acquisition of the “Sports Facility Safety Management Certification (KSPO 45001)” in 2022, awarded by the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation in recognition of its excellence in safety management levels and activities of sports facilities.
The “Sports Facility Safety Management Certification” is a system in which the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation grants a certificate to establish a safety management system and a standard model for safety management by comprehensively evaluating (18 items across 4 categories) documents and on-site inspections in areas such as “safety management system,” “safety and hygiene facilities and activity levels,” and “safety awareness.”
Okjeong Lake Sports Center was selected as a target for the 4th pilot project of sports facility safety management in July 2022, and after three on-site consulting visits by experts and certification audits, it was finally confirmed as a certification target. Following the award of the “Space Safety Certification” supervised by the Fire Agency and hosted by the Korea Safety Certification Institute in 2023, the center underwent a follow-up audit for the “Sports Facility Safety Management Certification” conducted by the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation in September 2024, and received a “compliance” result in December, demonstrating its continued commitment to maintaining its sports facility safety management capabilities.
