The alert levels are divided into Interest, Caution, and Warning.
The "Caution" level of the Coastal Accident Risk Alert System is issued when there is a high concern for safety accidents or the risk of damage spreading. During the caution period, the Coast Guard plans to strengthen sea and land patrols, focusing on dangerous coastal low-lying areas such as coastal waters, ports, and rocks, and to make every effort to prevent coastal safety accidents through publicity and safety guidance activities via local governments, police station digital displays, and public announcements.
A Mokpo Coast Guard official urged, "A strong northwesterly wind warning is currently in effect for the southern West Sea, so please check the mooring status of vessels at ports and harbors in advance, and refrain from visiting dangerous places such as coastlines or breakwaters."
