Uijeongbu-si Secures 450 Million KRW for Ecosystem Conservation Fee Refund Project Selected for Next Year
Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 24th that a restoration project targeting the Nokyang-dong Sports Complex has been selected for the Ministry of Environment's '2025 Ecosystem Conservation Charge Refund Project,' securing a budget of 450 million KRW.
The Ecosystem Conservation Charge Refund Project is a system that allows payers of the ecosystem conservation charge or agents of natural environment conservation projects to receive up to 50% of the paid charge back when they implement natural environment conservation projects approved by the Ministry of Environment. This initiative is promoted to encourage the conservation and restoration of damaged ecosystems.
This project is being carried out in the same area as the 'Sports Facility Land Environmental Cleanup Project' which is part of the 'Citizen Leisure Sports Town Development Project.' The selection for the refund project has helped reduce some of the necessary budget.
Uijeongbu City plans to transform the damaged area into a space where citizens can enjoy and heal with nature by creating flower gardens, artificial wetlands, and ecological education spaces through the refund project.
