On the afternoon of the 23rd, Jeju Province held the “2024 Outstanding Core Project Selection and Collaboration Performance Sharing Meeting” at Tamna Hall, 4th floor of the main building of Jeju Provincial Government, where they selected outstanding core projects, shared interdepartmental collaboration achievements, and explored directions for the province’s development in the new year.
The outstanding core projects were independently selected and promoted throughout the year for performance management focused on key policies linked to the provincial vision and goals, in accordance with the “2024 Performance Management and Evaluation Basic Plan.”
At this performance sharing meeting, the final ranking was determined through presentation evaluations of the top five projects among the ten outstanding core projects that passed the first written screening, along with additional points awarded by the institution head.
Among 54 core projects from 28 departments and bureaus, the Gold Prize was awarded to “Promotion of Energy Transition (Future Growth Division)” and “Fostering Jeju-style Private Space Industry (Space Mobility Division)” after a thorough review process.
For the Gold Prize-winning core projects, special performance bonuses will be given to division heads and team leaders, special performance incentives to working-level officials, and a 0.3-point merit score will be granted to employees at grade 5 or below. Silver Prize winners will receive a reward of 1 million KRW per team.
As for policy collaboration projects, three cases with high potential for expansion among the ten outstanding cases were shared as excellent policy collaboration examples. The selected projects are “Establishment of Jeju Nonghyup Jeju-Culture-Health-Learning Complex Space (Education Policy Cooperation Division),” “Province-wide Health Walking Campaign (Health Management Division),” and “Promotion of Regional Innovation-centered University Support (RISE) System (Future Growth Division).”
Jeju Province introduced policy collaboration projects to break down barriers between departments, effectively implement major provincial policies, and actively respond to new administrative demands.
In May, Jeju Province established the “Plan to Strengthen Core Policy Management for the Latter Half of the 8th Civil Administration,” and through various incentives such as reflecting performance management systems, discovered a total of 58 collaboration projects. Ten outstanding cases were selected through the first written screening.
Governor Oh Younghun emphasized, “What’s meaningful is not just whether goals were achieved, but the fact that new attempts were made for the development of the province. Do not fear failure, and help create a public service culture that embraces challenges,” adding, “The practice and collaboration of public officials will change the daily lives of residents, and Jeju’s policies will become the new standard for Korea.”
The outstanding projects selected this time are expected to be reflected in major policies in 2025, laying the foundation for tangible achievements that residents can experience.
