Yongin City to Open 'Pogok Bridge' Connecting Pogok IC and National Road 45 on the 26th
Expectations to Resolve Chronic Traffic Congestion of Entry and Exit Vehicles
Mayor Lee: "We Will Continuously Improve Road Environment"
Access to and from Pogok IC on the Seoul Metropolitan Area 2nd Ring Expressway, which had been frequently congested due to the lack of a direct road connection to the national highway, will become smoother.
Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 24th that it has completed the construction of Pogok Bridge, connecting Pogok IC in the metropolitan area with National Route 45, and will open it at 2 p.m. on the 26th.

Mayor Lee Sang-il of Yongin City, elected in the 8th term, pledged to expand connecting roads to solve this problem. Accordingly, the city started construction of Pogok Bridge, which crosses Gyeangancheon Stream and directly connects the tollgate to National Route 45, in July 2022, right after Mayor Lee took office, and completed the construction in two years and five months.
Pogok Bridge was built as a six-lane road with a width of 24 meters. The bridge length is 125 meters, and the total length of the newly constructed road including the bridge is 200 meters. The construction cost 19.9 billion KRW.
The city expects that the opening of Pogok Bridge will improve the convenience of movement not only for residents of Pogok-eup but also for vehicles entering Pogok IC from Mohyeon and Yurim directions along National Route 45.
Along with the completion of Pogok Bridge, the city also finished expanding Everland Road in the Dunjeon-ri 350-15 area of Pogok-eup from two lanes in both directions to four lanes to resolve the bottleneck caused by the concentration of vehicles heading toward Dunjeon from National Route 45.
Mayor Lee said, "The opening of Pogok Bridge will also have a significant effect in connecting the living areas of Pogok-eup residents, which were divided by Gyeangancheon Stream," and added, "We will continue to do our best to improve the local road environment for the convenience of citizens' movement."
