Vietnam Woori Bank Opens PB Specialized Seo-Sai-Gong Branch
Vietnam Woori Bank, the local subsidiary of Woori Bank in Vietnam, announced on the 24th that it has opened the West Saigon Branch in the southwestern area of Ho Chi Minh City to attract local high-net-worth individuals and expand retail operations.
With this, Vietnam Woori Bank's total number of business channels has increased to 28. The West Saigon Branch is the fourth specialized channel under Woori Bank's PB brand, Two-Chairs, following the Hanoi Starlake Branch, Hanoi Lotte Mall Branch, and Ho Chi Minh Phu My Hung Branch, targeting local high-net-worth clients.
Located in the southwestern part of Ho Chi Minh City, the economic hub of Vietnam, the West Saigon area is home to many affluent customers. Vietnam Woori Bank has recruited a local Vietnamese branch manager to promote PB sales. Additionally, with numerous shopping malls and universities concentrated in the area, attracting a large young population, retail operations such as the digital platform Global WON Banking, QR payment services, and check and credit cards are also expected to be activated.
Meanwhile, the number of individual customers at Vietnam Woori Bank increased from 370,000 at the end of 2022 to 620,000 as of November this year. During the same period, individual deposit and loan performance more than doubled from $490 million to $1.02 billion, demonstrating rapid growth in the local retail business sector. In particular, through the newly introduced QR payment service in 2023, by attracting merchants' collection accounts, the cumulative number of QR payment transactions via Woori Bank accounts has reached 1.1 million.
