Korea Zinc Wins 2024 Korea ESG Award... "Leading Green Energy"

View original imageKorea Zinc announced on the 24th that it has been selected as an award-winning company at the '2024 2nd Korea ESG Awards,' jointly hosted by the Korea ESG Association and Electronic Times.
The '2024 Korea ESG Awards' selects outstanding institutions and individuals in various sectors including local governments, councils, public institutions, companies, organizations, and educational institutions based on ESG management evaluation indicators and ESG performance, which include 10 Environmental items, 12 Social items, and 16 Governance items.
Korea Zinc is one of the 16 companies selected as award winners at this year's Korea ESG Awards, receiving high recognition especially for its transition to an eco-friendly company.
The organizers explained the selection background in the '2024 Korea ESG Awards Selection Results (Announcement)' stating, "Korea Zinc is transitioning from a 'high electricity-consuming company' to an 'eco-friendly company' leading green energy and promoting resource recycling to respond to climate change and fulfill its environmental responsibilities."

Kim Ki-jun, Head of Sustainability Management at Korea Zinc, said, "Korea Zinc is actively pursuing a leap forward through the new business 'Troika Drive.' In particular, we are accelerating the transition to eco-friendly energy through renewable energy and green hydrogen projects, and leading the establishment of a recycling ecosystem for waste resources through resource circulation business."
