POSCO, 'World's Most Competitive Steelmaker' Ranked No.1 for 15 Consecutive Years
Highest Scores in Five Categories Including Technological Innovation and Processing Costs
POSCO has been ranked No. 1 as the 'Most Competitive Steelmaker in the World' for 15 consecutive years.
On the 24th, POSCO announced that on the 22nd (local time), the global steel industry analysis firm WSD (World Steel Dynamics) selected the company as the No. 1 'Most Competitive Steelmaker in the World for 2024.'
Since 2002, WSD has evaluated 35 steelmakers worldwide based on 23 criteria, including ▲technological innovation ▲production scale ▲cost reduction ▲processing costs ▲financial soundness ▲customer accessibility ▲raw material procurement.
Despite challenging domestic and international sales conditions, POSCO achieved the highest scores in five categories: technological innovation, processing costs, skilled labor, mergers and acquisitions/joint ventures, and downstream/non-steel industries, earning an overall score of 8.62 out of 10 and ranking first.
