Those present at the event arranged by Mayor Oh included Kim Hanna, Bae Sang-hyun, Yoo Seon-chun, and Jo Jin-ho, who rescued emergency patients, and Choi Yoon-min, who witnessed and promptly reported cracks in the glass ceiling at a subway entrance.
Mayor Oh listened in detail to the situations the five heroes experienced in the subway. Pharmacist Yoo Seon-chun, who saved an elderly person who collapsed at Anguk Station, said, "After helping an elderly person who collapsed in my neighborhood before, I regretted not having a CPR certificate, so I immediately obtained one. Thanks to that, I was able to make appropriate judgments and respond properly in the subway. Although my coat and clothes were all wet, I think I would step forward again if faced with such a situation."
Bae Sang-hyun, who found a collapsed patient at Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station and took the initiative to secure the airway and provide emergency aid until 119 arrived, contributing to the patient's recovery of consciousness, said, "Just a few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to study cardiopulmonary resuscitation while watching TV with my children, which was a great help in assisting the patient." Mayor Oh responded, "It must not have been easy to step forward so readily, thank you."
