Daejeon City, Daedeok District, and K-water Sign Basic Agreement for Digital Water Industry Valley

View original imageDaejeon City signed a basic agreement on the 23rd with Daedeok District and K-water for the successful establishment of the 'Daejeon Digital Water Industry Valley' to be built in the Sindae District.
The agreement includes matters necessary for mutual cooperation and the execution of tasks between the local governments and K-water for the successful creation of the 'Daejeon Digital Water Industry Valley'.
Under the agreement, Daejeon City and Daedeok District will provide administrative support for attracting companies, resolving civil complaints, and establishing infrastructure, while K-water will carry out the preliminary feasibility study, administrative procedures such as designating the area as a research and development special zone, and be responsible for the construction of the industrial complex.
The 'Daejeon Digital Water Industry Valley' will be developed as a hub for innovative growth in the water industry in Sindae-dong, Daedeok District, covering an area of 315,000 square meters (about 95,000 pyeong).
K-water has been conducting a feasibility study since 2022, plans to apply for a preliminary feasibility study in the first half of next year, and aims to begin construction in 2028.
The city plans to designate the 'Daejeon Digital Water Industry Valley' as a Daedeok Research and Development Special Zone to make it an attractive industrial complex for companies.
Lee Jangwoo, Mayor of Daejeon, said, "Outstanding companies that grow in the Daejeon Digital Water Industry Valley will provide quality jobs and create a virtuous cycle where local talent drives Daejeon's economic development."
