The Santa Festival with Folk Festival is a performance planned by the Foundation to celebrate Christmas, providing a stage for acoustic guitar enthusiasts who have formed a close-knit network in the region, with folk music as the main theme.
Renowned singer-songwriter Jung Yongju, who debuted on Gwangju MBC's "Starry Night" in 1978 and released his first album "On the Narrow Road" in 2002 and his second album "San San San" in 2006, will form a trio with singers Joo Hyun and Gong Seonggil, filling Christmas with nostalgia and romance.
Also taking the stage are violinist Kim Suyeon, who serves as the director of the L'Arbre Ensemble and music director of the Honam Philharmonic Orchestra, and bagpipe player Kim Jungsik, who is the head of the Gwangju-Jeonnam branch of the Korean Saxophone Players Association.
A Foundation representative stated, "We are preparing a romantic folk performance for a memorable Christmas," and added, "We will do our best to ensure that the audience can joyfully wrap up the end of the year."
