A CJ Logistics delivery driver was awarded for discovering a fire early in a multi-unit residential building consisting of several one-room apartments during a delivery, promptly helping residents evacuate, and assisting in extinguishing the fire by reporting it to 119.
On the 23rd, CJ Logistics announced that they rewarded delivery driver Bae Cheol for discovering a house fire during delivery work and preventing casualties and fire spread through swift action.
On the 13th, while on delivery duty, Bae noticed smoke rising from the second floor of a villa in Sudong-myeon, Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province. Following the fire alarm sound, he located the burning house and immediately reported it to 119. Recognizing that the fire could spread quickly due to the nature of one-room apartments, Bae went door to door to alert residents. After assisting with evacuation, he unlocked the shared entrance to allow firefighters quick access and personally guided them to the burning unit.
Afterward, Bae helped move parked vehicles with residents to facilitate fire truck entry and only resumed delivery work after confirming that firefighters had completely extinguished the fire. Thanks to Bae’s quick judgment and actions, the fire was brought under control within 20 minutes without major damage.
CJ Logistics expressed gratitude for Bae’s calm response and proactive rescue efforts by awarding him. The Namyangju Fire Station is also preparing a commendation for Bae for preventing a large-scale fire through his prompt decision-making.
