Boryeong City's Top News of the Year: Designation as a Carbon-Neutral Energy Opportunity Development Zone
Residents of Boryeong, Chungnam selected the designation of the Carbon Neutral Energy Opportunity Development Zone as this year's top news.
The Boryeong City government announced on the 23rd that in a survey conducted for 18 days from November 29 to December 16 on its official website and at local administrative welfare centers, citizens chose the "designation of the Carbon Neutral Energy Opportunity Development Zone" as the top news among the city's Top 10 News of the Year. A total of 1,304 citizens participated in the survey.
Other stories selected for the Top 10 News include: △ Selection of Boryeong as a leading city for carbon neutrality △ Chungnam's only "Excellent" rating for the Local Extinction Response Fund △ Gold City business agreement, overcoming population decline crisis in cooperation with Seoul △ Successful hosting of three major marine mega events △ Boryeong Mud Festival selected as Korea Brand Awards winner △ Korea Creative Management 2024, three consecutive years of winning △ Opening of the urban planning road between Myeongcheon Samgeori and Boryeong City Hall in December △ Opening of Boryeong Badminton Stadium △ Manse Boryeong Rice Samgwangmi Gold, selected as Korea’s representative brand for five consecutive years.
Mayor Kim Dongil said, "This year was a successful one in which we tackled the challenging tasks of carbon neutrality and revitalizing the local economy together with our citizens," adding, "We will continue to do our utmost to improve the quality of life for our citizens and create a happy Manse Boryeong OK Boryeong."
