4 Gyeongbuk High School Students Receive 'Korea Talent Award'... Joeunwoo, Jang Woojin, Najihong, Kim Junseong
Gyeongbuk Office of Education (Superintendent Lim Jong-sik) announced on the 20th that four students, Jo Eun-woo (Gyeongsan Science High School), Jang Woo-jin (Pohang Steel Industrial High School), Na Ji-hong (Pohang Steel High School), and Kim Jun-sung (Gyeongju Information High School), were honored with the ‘2024 Korea Talent Award’ organized by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Student Aid Foundation.
The ‘Korea Talent Award’ is given to outstanding young talents in various fields who are between the ages of 15 and 34 and will lead future society in South Korea.
The four high school students selected as winners from the Gyeongbuk region this year are talented individuals in various fields, possessing both skills and character.

View original imageJo Eun-woo of Gyeongsan Science High School is a capable student who has achieved excellent results in various science research and invention competitions based on outstanding creativity, including winning the Excellence Award at the 44th National Student Science Invention Competition, the Grand Prize (Minister of Science and ICT Award) at the KAIST Can Satellite Competition, and the Silver Award at the 30th Samsung Human Tech Thesis Competition.
Jang Woo-jin of Pohang Steel Industrial High School has obtained five technician certificates, including the Electrician Technician, driven by his passion for technology. Based on his technical skills and creativity, he won the Grand Prize at the Future Creative Invention I&D Project Competition. He is also a passionate student who achieved excellent results in entrepreneurship by winning the Grand Prize at the National Startup Competition.
Na Ji-hong of Pohang Steel High School is a scientific talent who has demonstrated creativity in the field of science and has a strong will for community development and harmony, having served as student council president and vice president during elementary and middle school. He has achieved excellent results in 14 competitions, including the Commissioner of the Korean Intellectual Property Office Award at the Korea Student Creativity Championship and the Innovator Award at the AI SDGs Camp Moonshot 2023.
Kim Jun-sung of Gyeongju Information High School is an outstanding student ranking in the top 1% at school. Since middle school, he has had a clear goal of employment in public enterprises before pursuing further education, acquiring 22 certificates and receiving 26 awards both inside and outside school. He also succeeded in passing the recruitment exams for both the National Pension Service and the Korea Asset Management Corporation, demonstrating his exceptional capabilities.
