Saewool Nuclear Power Headquarters of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (Head: So You-seop) announced that Saewool Unit 1 (Pressurized Water Reactor, 1.4 million kW class) stopped power generation at 10:40 AM on the 19th and began its 5th planned preventive maintenance.

View original imageSince April 21, 2020, Saewool Unit 1 has contributed to stable power supply for a total of 1,528 days without a single failure shutdown, proving the excellence and safety of the export model APR1400.
During the planned preventive maintenance period, Saewool Unit 1 plans to secure the safety and reliability of the power generation facilities through statutory inspections under the Nuclear Safety Act, nuclear fuel replacement, and inspection and maintenance of major equipment.

After confirming compliance through various statutory inspections, Saewool Unit 1 is scheduled to resume power generation by the end of February next year following the operation approval from the Nuclear Safety and Security Commission.
