Jeonbuk Province Holds 'Carbon Neutral Green Growth Committee' Meeting to Discuss Policy Directions
Ten Members Appointed to Establish Carbon Neutrality Policy Over Two Years
Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province announced on the 19th that it held the '2050 Carbon Neutral Green Growth Committee' at the Provincial Government's General Situation Room on the 18th.
This committee meeting was attended by Vice Governor for Administrative Affairs Choi Byungkwan and various members from both the administrative and private sectors. The purpose was to review the current status of carbon neutrality initiatives and discuss future policy directions.

View original imageThe Carbon Neutral Green Growth Committee was established in accordance with Article 22 of the 'Framework Act on Carbon Neutrality' to deliberate and decide on major policies and plans related to carbon neutrality in Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province.
The committee also plays a key role in the formulation and implementation of the basic plan for carbon neutrality and green growth.
During this meeting, appointment letters were presented to 10 newly appointed committee members. These new members will participate in the development and implementation of carbon neutrality policies over the next two years, contributing their expertise to enhance the effectiveness of these policies.
Lim Sungjin, a professor at Jeonju University, was newly elected as the co-chair of the committee and is expected to play a significant role in overall carbon neutrality policies moving forward.
Co-chair Lim Sungjin stated, "Carbon neutrality is a challenging task, but it is a fully achievable goal through systematic and continuous efforts," and added, "The Carbon Neutral Green Growth Committee will take the lead in ensuring that Jeonbuk advances as a sustainable region encompassing both the environment and the economy."
