KPGA Executives and Secretariat Staff Alleged to Have Committed Harsh Treatment
Controversy over Profanity, Verbal Abuse, Threats, Insults, and Coercion
Union: "Criminal Acts Beyond Harassment, Legal Action"
A senior executive of the Korea Professional Golfers' Association (KPGA) has been accused of mistreating an office staff member.
The KPGA labor union stated on the 19th, "Executive A repeatedly used obscene language against victim employee B and insulted them by mentioning the victim's family. Furthermore, they exploited work-related mistakes to force the submission of a resignation letter and coerced the victim to resign based on that letter, engaging in criminal acts beyond mere harassment." The union added, "The perpetrator called the victim out to threaten them with murder, made unabashed sexual harassment remarks, and even pressured them to leave the labor union."
According to the union, Executive A's harsh behavior escalated to an extreme level since August, and victim employee B, who has worked at the association for over 10 years, has undergone psychiatric treatment. The union announced plans to report the case to the police station, labor office, and Sports Ethics Center based on related evidence, signaling a legal battle ahead. Victim employee B filed a report of workplace harassment within the company to ensure separation from the perpetrator.
