Ulsan City to Increase Taxi Support for Transportation-Disadvantaged from New Year
Implementation of Voucher Taxi, New Family-Friendly Parking Zones Established
Ulsan City will implement various policies next year to provide mobility convenience for transportation-vulnerable groups.
Currently, Ulsan City operates a disabled call taxi service for severely walking-impaired individuals and wheelchair-using seniors aged 65 and over.
Starting next year, vouchers will be provided to support taxi use for pregnant women, infants, and elderly people aged 85 and above.
Eligible residents of Ulsan can use voucher taxis up to four times per month when visiting hospitals in the Ulsan area. Considering the current number of registered users, Ulsan City plans to operate between 300 and up to 600 voucher taxis.
Those who wish to use the service can register as users by calling the Ulsan Disabled Welfare Service Support Association or through its app.
Additionally, to enhance mobility and parking convenience for families accompanied by parents and children and to foster a social atmosphere of family consideration, a ‘Family Consideration Exclusive Parking Zone’ will be newly established.
At least 5% of all parking spaces in 10 public parking lots with more than 100 spaces installed by Ulsan City and 19 public facility-affiliated parking lots will be designated for this purpose.
