View original imageYeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that it will hold the ‘Merry Mullae Christmas Village’ winter festival at Mullae-dong Flower Garden from December 21 to 22 to celebrate Christmas.
The starting point of the ‘Merry Mullae Christmas Village’ is the ‘Mullae-dong Flower Garden.’ The ‘Mullae-dong Flower Garden’ is a space that has returned to the residents after 23 years and is a symbolic place marking the beginning of the ‘Garden City Yeongdeungpo.’
The district plans to hold the first official event at the ‘Mullae-dong Flower Garden’ and offer residents an unforgettable special Christmas.
As a festival created together by residents, artists, and small business owners, various art pieces and programs, including Christmas trees reflecting the sentiment of Mullae-dong, will be displayed throughout the Mullae-dong Flower Garden.
The highlight of the festival is the ‘Tree Lighting Ceremony,’ which starts with a countdown at 5:30 PM on the 21st. This will be followed by a congratulatory performance by the district’s boys and girls choir to raise the festival’s excitement.
Other attractions include ▲ the ‘Rudolph Train’ running through the Flower Garden with Santa ▲ the ‘Secret Forest’ and ‘YDP Tree’ created by artist Lee Han-ju and small business owners ▲ the ‘Christmas Photo Zone’ to take pictures with Santa ▲ Mullae workshop experiences ▲ the ‘Snowball Shop’ where visitors can buy or make Christmas gifts ▲ and the ‘Morakmorak Snack Bar’ offering winter snacks.
There are also special events. Visitors who receive a passport at the information desk and complete the stamp mission can enjoy a warm cup of tea. Additionally, a warm resting area with a heated tent and stove is prepared so that residents can enjoy the festival warmly even in the cold wave.
The district expects this winter festival to set a new standard for local festivals that embrace culture and gardens. By turning the garden, which was usually a walking space in daily life, into a festival venue during Christmas, Mullae-dong?once comforted by the sound of metalworking?will become a center of festival, culture, and leisure with carols playing.
