Anseong-si "This Year's Hometown Love Donation Exceeds 300 Million Won"
Increased by 135 million KRW Compared to the Same Period Last Year
On the 16th, Anseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced that it has achieved its hometown love donation program fundraising goal of 300 million KRW this year. This amount is 135 million KRW more than the same period last year.
The city explained that the achievement of the fundraising goal was based on the efforts of individual donors, expatriates from all over the country, and officials from the NongHyup (National Agricultural Cooperative Federation).
To promote the hometown love donation program this year, the city held monthly events related to thank-you gifts. In particular, the 'Anseong Rice' and 'Dodram Pork' bonus events held ahead of the year-end tax settlement were very popular, the city said. The Anseong rice provided as thank-you gifts during the event period amounted to 6,000 kg, which reportedly helped increase the income of local farms.
In line with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's opening of private platforms this month, the city expanded participation methods for the hometown love donation program through a contract with WigiBwa. At the same time, it selected a project to support breakfast convenience meals made from local agricultural specialties for long-distance commuting youth as a designated donation project and is conducting fundraising. The fundraising, which started on the 2nd, collected about 15 million KRW in donations within 14 days.
Kim Bora, mayor of Anseong City, said, "We sincerely thank those who participated in the hometown love donation to support the city," adding, "The collected donations will be used valuably for the development of Anseong City and the welfare of its residents."
