December Donghaeng Festival Records Direct Sales of 307.6 Billion Won Over 15 Days
Online Channels Record 275.3 Billion KRW
Offline Sales Including Regional Sales Exhibition Reach 32.3 Billion KRW
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 18th that the December Donghaeng Festival, which began on the 1st, recorded direct sales of 307.6 billion KRW through online and offline channels over 15 days.
Specifically, sales through online channels such as online special exhibitions and TV home shopping amounted to 275.3 billion KRW, while offline sales including the opening special event and local sales exhibitions reached 32.3 billion KRW. Additionally, the sales of Onnuri gift certificates worth 114.4 billion KRW and local love gift certificates worth 4.6 billion KRW indirectly contributed to the sales.
The December Donghaeng Festival, held for the last time this year, is an event that spreads warmth and practices sharing through small business products, with various large and small local sales exhibitions continuing across the country.
Previously, about 24,000 people visited over three days at the opening special event held from the 6th to the 8th at the Hongdae Walkable Street shopping district. Windscarf, a company participating in the Donghaeng Festival, said, "During the festival period, our products were widely exposed through online special exhibitions and offline events, resulting in a 20% increase in sales compared to usual." Hojung Food, which participated in the Donghaeng Festival’s exclusive online special exhibition, also saw sales increase by 700% year-on-year through online promotions.
