The Mayor of Icheon City, Gyeonggi Province, Kim Kyung-hee, announced on the 17th that she received the 'Merit Award' at the '2024 Proud Gyeonggi-do Museum Award' on the 16th.
Organized by the Gyeonggi-do Museum Association, this award is given to individuals who have contributed to the development of museums and local government culture, selected through a panel meeting composed of experts.

View original imageMayor Kim received high praise for improving accessibility to cultural heritage facilities through the 'Seolbong Neighborhood Park Pedestrian Street Environment Improvement Project,' promoted as a city policy linkage project to become a cultural tourism city. She was also recognized for enhancing the city's status with the '100th Anniversary Commemorative Exhibition of Korean Original Children's Songs,' planned to create value for Icheon's specialized culture of children's songs and revitalize museums, as well as the corporate exhibition 'OB Beer Chronicle,' prepared in collaboration with local companies.
The city has also secured its own budget to promote a new project, the 'Museum Shared Office,' to revitalize cultural and artistic education in museums next year.
