View original imageHwasun Chonnam National University Hospital announced on the 17th that nurse Park Mikyung, who supports clinical care, recently received the Oncology Nurse Award at the "2024 Korean Oncology Nursing Society Winter Conference and General Meeting" held at Seoul National University College of Medicine.
Nurse Park Mikyung was recognized for her efforts to improve the health of cancer patients, their families, and the local community based on her expertise in oncology nursing, as well as her contributions to raising the status of oncology nursing.
As a dedicated nurse in the hematology department, Nurse Park continuously provides education on chemotherapy for hematologic cancer patients, nursing care for hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, and patient education for those undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, taking the lead in infection prevention for immunocompromised patients.
She also strives to strengthen her capabilities by providing central venous catheter management education to visiting nurses in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions and participating in audiovisual education webinars for hematologic cancer patients organized by the Korea Blood Cancer Association.
Her two years of service as a member of the Education Committee of the Korean Oncology Nursing Society, during which she provided high-quality educational programs to society members, was also highly praised.
Nurse Park stated, "I believe I received this award on behalf of the nurses at Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital who are working hard in the field," and added, "There are many nurses at our hospital who are even more capable. I will continue to strive to provide high-quality nursing care to our patients."
