Pohang Winter Sea Painted with Five-Colored Lights... Yeongildae LED Rose Garden Renovated
Installation of Over 1,500 LED Rose Landscape Lights
Yeongildae Rose Garden, a landmark of Pohang City, will open an LED rose garden for the winter season.
Starting in early December, the city pruned the roses planted in Yeongildae Rose Garden to regulate their growth during the winter season, then installed landscape lighting including about 1,500 LED roses to newly renovate it as an LED rose garden.
By maximizing the reuse of lighting fixtures installed last year to reduce costs and supplementing insufficient fixtures, the LED rose garden, created with a more colorful appearance than in previous years, has breathed new life into the rose garden that could look bleak during the winter season.
Lee Kyung-sik, head of the Greenway Promotion Division, said, “We focused on creating a space that harmonizes well with the nighttime scenery around Yeongildae so that visitors can feel the rose garden as friendly and warm. Along with operating the LED rose garden during the winter, we will also put effort into the winter care of the roses so that next year we can meet even more beautiful Pohang city roses.”
