Changwon Special City Holds Awards Ceremony for 'Tantantaero Best Practice Contest' with Corporate Participation
Awarding 6 Outstanding Works to Promote Excellent Cases of Corporate Carbon Neutrality Practices
On the 17th, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held the 2024 Changwon City ‘Enterprises, Tantan-daero Best Practices Contest’ award ceremony in the City Hall 3rd meeting room.
The ‘Enterprises, Tantan-daero Best Practices Contest’ was held under the slogan “Towards Carbon Neutrality, Carbon Zero, and Changwon as Korea’s Number One City!” From September to October, local enterprises were invited to submit outstanding carbon neutrality practice cases in categories such as ▲energy saving ▲circular economy ▲eco-friendly consumption ▲eco-friendly transportation ▲absorption source protection through card news and video (UCC) formats.
The city selected six outstanding works after external judges reviewed the submissions based on relevance to the theme, sustainability, scalability, and creativity. The selected works will be actively utilized to promote corporate carbon neutrality practices in the future.
The award-winning works include, in the card news category, ▲Grand Prize: Daewoon Transportation’s “Ideas for Making Changwon the World’s Number One: Carbon Neutrality & Zero” ▲Excellence Award: Hanwha Aerospace’s “ECO Mileage Activities with Beautiful Store” ▲Encouragement Award: Denso Korea’s “Carbon Reduction Activities” (environmental cleanup, absorption source protection), Hyundai Rotem’s “Learning about Hyundai Rotem’s Carbon Neutrality,” and in the video (UCC) category, ▲Grand Prize: Hyundai Wia’s “Hyundai Wia’s Carbon Neutrality Journey” ▲Excellence Award: Doosan Enerbility’s “Doosan Enerbility Carbon Hunter.” Each winner received a plaque and prize money: 1,000,000 KRW for grand prize, 700,000 KRW for excellence, and 300,000 KRW for encouragement awards.
