On the 16th, Gwangju Bank announced that it recently passed all certifications and audits for ISO/IEC 27001, the international standard for information security management systems, as well as ISMS and ISMS-P, information security and personal information management systems, thereby further strengthening the bank's ESG security competitiveness.
ISO/IEC 27001 is the most authoritative international standard in the field of information security, established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). Gwangju Bank obtained the certification after a rigorous audit process covering 93 items across four areas: organizational, human, physical, and technical security.
Additionally, Gwangju Bank was the first domestic bank to acquire ISMS (Information Security Management System) and ISMS-P (Personal Information & Information Security Management System), the highest integrated certification system jointly announced by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Personal Information Protection Commission, in 2019, and has maintained and renewed these certifications for five consecutive years.
This recent certification acquisition and renewal is the result of Gwangju Bank's continuous efforts to strengthen personal information protection and advance its security system, demonstrating not only domestic but also global security competitiveness, as well as the reliability and transparency of personal credit information through the establishment of an 'advanced information security system.'
