Yeongyang-gun to Host the 2nd Yeongyang Kkongkkong Winter Festival Starting January 3 Next Year
Yeongyang County, Gyeongbuk Province (Governor O Do-chang) will hold the "2nd Yeongyang Kkongkkong Winter Festival" from January 3 to 19, 2025, at the ice rink in Hyeon-ri, Yeongyang-eup (around Hyeon-ri, Yeongyang-eup), hosted by Yeongyang County and organized by the Yeongyang County Sports Council.
The Hyeon-ri ice rink, which previously operated only as a free skating rink, is hosting the Kkongkkong Festival for the first time this January. The festival added various programs such as a snow sledding area, a rotating snow sledding area, ice fishing for smelt, and smelt catching experiences. It also offered a variety of food and various experiential programs, making it a winter festival that satisfies all five senses, attracting over 35,000 visitors and receiving favorable reviews.
