‘Charge of Engaging in Important Duties During Rebellion’ Police Commissioner Jo Ji-ho Hospitalized Due to Health Deterioration
Police Commissioner Jo Ji-ho, who was deeply involved in the 'December 3 Emergency Martial Law,' has been hospitalized due to deteriorating health.

View original imageAccording to the Special Investigation Unit of the National Police Agency on the 16th, Commissioner Jo was transferred from the Namdaemun Police Station detention center in Seoul to a negative pressure room at the Police Hospital on the 14th.
It is reported that Commissioner Jo refused cancer treatment and expressed his intention not to leave the detention center. On the 12th, he was also transferred to the emergency room of the Police Hospital for blood and imaging tests before being returned to the detention center.
The Special Investigation Unit urgently arrested Commissioner Jo on the 11th on charges of engaging in important duties related to rebellion, and obtained a warrant from the court on the 13th to detain him.
On the evening of the 3rd, around 7 p.m., just before the announcement of martial law, Commissioner Jo met President Yoon Seok-yeol at the presidential residence in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, and received an A4 document titled 'Control Institutions' among others. The document reportedly listed about ten places to be controlled during martial law, including the National Assembly and media outlets.
