On the 14th, Cho Kyu-hong, Minister of Health and Welfare, convened an emergency executive meeting immediately after the Cabinet meeting presided over by the Acting President, urging to focus efforts on maintaining the emergency medical system.
At the meeting, Minister Cho stated, "Following the Acting President's urgent directive, the Ministry of Health and Welfare must do its utmost to ensure that the daily lives of the people are not disrupted," and instructed to concentrate efforts on maintaining the emergency medical system, including winter emergency medical measures, emergency medical measures during the Lunar New Year holiday, and respiratory disease management.
He also requested thorough preparation of measures to identify and support welfare crisis households, protect vulnerable groups against cold waves, inspect the safety of disaster preparedness facilities, and develop customized support plans for vulnerable populations.
