Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam, expressed regret over the passage of the impeachment motion against President Yoon Seok-yeol and stated his determination to work harder to stabilize people’s livelihoods.
On the 14th, Mayor Hong said in a statement at the National Assembly following the passage of the impeachment motion against President Yoon, “As one of the local government heads, I deeply regret that national turmoil has been added amid difficulties both inside and outside the country.”
He added, “I hope that the current situation will be resolved quickly based on the values of liberal democracy and the principles of the rule of law, which are the foundation of the Republic of Korea.”
