Airport Railroad Introduces Credit Card Payment for Single-Use Transportation Cards
Starting from the 27th, one-time use transportation cards can be purchased with credit cards at all Airport Railroad stations.
The one-time use transportation card is a refundable ticket where the deposit (500 won) is returned upon card return after use. Currently, it can only be purchased with cash, and other payment methods such as credit cards are not supported.
The Airport Railroad reported that among its users, 1.5 million people annually (based on last year) use one-time use transportation cards, and about 100 foreigners inquire daily about purchasing one-time use transportation cards with credit cards. Therefore, it is introducing credit card payment services for the first time among domestic railway operators.
Accordingly, after a pilot operation at Incheon Airport Terminal 1 Station starting from the 13th, credit card payments will be available at all stations from the 27th. The usage method for one-time use transportation cards remains the same, and the deposit can be refunded after use.
