Yeongyang-gun Hosts 'Hometown Love Donation Year-End Event'
Yeongyang-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, is holding the ‘Yeongyang-gun Hometown Love Donation Year-end Event’ throughout December to celebrate the end of the year.
This event was organized to increase interest and participation in the Yeongyang-gun Hometown Love Donation by providing additional benefits to donors during the year-end period when interest in year-end tax settlements rises.
Donors who contribute 100,000 KRW or more to Yeongyang-gun during the period will be automatically entered into the event. Among the participants, 50 people will be selected by lottery to receive one popular thank-you gift from Yeongyang-gun in addition to the existing benefits. Winners will be notified individually in January 2025 after the event ends.
County Governor O Do-chang said, “Since the event runs throughout December, we hope many people who love Yeongyang will participate,” adding, “We will continue to discover thank-you gifts that satisfy donors and hold innovative events to enhance the satisfaction of those who donate to Yeongyang-gun.”
The Hometown Love Donation system allows individuals to donate to their hometown or a desired local government, which then uses the funds for resident welfare projects. Donors receive tax benefits (a full tax credit for donations up to 100,000 KRW, and 16.5% for amounts exceeding 100,000 KRW) and may receive thank-you gifts (such as local agricultural and specialty products) worth up to 30% of the donation amount. This system has been in effect since January 1, 2023.
