The two organizations plan to focus on areas such as △investigation, diagnosis, and consulting of water usage facilities △technical support for water-saving projects △promotion of water-saving culture.
Accordingly, a water resource usage investigation and diagnosis will be conducted targeting urban railway stations with high water consumption to promote water-saving projects such as leakage reduction and installation of water-saving devices.
Busan Transportation Corporation is also making its own efforts to conserve water. In 2023, the corporation used about 750,000 tons of water supply and sewage, but through various efforts such as △utilization of leaked groundwater (for heating/cooling, firefighting, cleaning, restrooms) △adjustment of restroom water pressure in stations △installation of water-saving sanitary equipment, it is expected to reduce water supply and sewage usage by about 20,000 tons in 2024 compared to the previous year.
