In addition, to encourage general citizen interest and participation in the cultural city development project, enhance citizens' opportunities to enjoy culture, and provide a time for the cultural city and citizens to dream and hope together through warm light sculpture works in the coming new year, this outdoor light sculpture exhibition was prepared.
'Everyone's Dream 展,' crafted from hanji paper and iron in the form of light, consists of 28 light sculptures featuring familiar yet mystical subjects such as whales, fish, the moon, candles, and moon jars, completed with the unique soft texture of traditional hanji and a modern aesthetic.
In particular, the majestic 6.5-meter-high 'Moon Jar' spherical shape evokes the night sky and starlight, and through internal lighting, it recreates the moment of making a wish under the moonlight in a modern way, allowing visitors to newly experience the traditional sentiment of wish-making.
Also, 'Guardians of the River and Fish,' symbolizing the harmonious relationship between nature and humans, express the wonders of nature and a prosperous future we can welcome symbolically, while the representative work 'Whale Family' conveys the beauty of life and the importance of family in nature. Through various light sculpture works, it is expected to offer citizens a calm time to wrap up the year.
The light sculpture works are outdoor installations and can be viewed anytime during the exhibition period at the outdoor area of Uijeongbu Arts Center. The lighting hours, which allow for a more beautiful viewing of the works, are from 5:00 PM to 10:30 PM daily.
