Cheonan Sinbu Happy Housing Construction Resumes... Completion Scheduled for June 2027
Construction of 587-Unit Complex and Public Parking Lot
The construction of the Cheonan Sinbu Happy Housing project in Chungnam, which had been suspended, has resumed.
The city held a groundbreaking ceremony on the 6th to announce the resumption of construction.
The Cheonan Sinbu Happy Housing will be built on the former courthouse site in Sinbu-dong, Dongnam-gu, covering 14,727.3 square meters, with two basement levels and 20 floors above ground, accommodating 587 households. A public parking lot for 140 vehicles will also be constructed, and the project is scheduled for completion in June 2027.
Previously, in February 2021, a private contractor began construction of the Cheonan Sinbu Happy Housing, but the project was halted in September due to changes in the business plan, such as the addition of a public parking lot. As the suspension period grew longer, the contractor eventually abandoned the project in April last year.
Since then, the city has completed the selection of a new contractor, obtained approval from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport for changes to the housing construction plan, and carried out the demolition of existing buildings to resume the project.
The city expects that the construction of Cheonan Sinbu Happy Housing will attract more young residents and help revitalize the local economy.
Park Sangdon, Mayor of Cheonan, said, "We will continue to make various efforts to improve residential welfare and quality of life," and requested cooperation to ensure that the construction proceeds safely and smoothly.
