Kim Geon-hee Special Prosecutor Signature Campaign, 70,000 Participants in Constituency
Park Ji-won, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea (representing Haenam, Wando, and Jindo in Jeollanam-do), announced on the 5th that he continues the tradition of Geumgwiwollae through his local livelihood activities.
Recently, Park attended the 34th Geumgwiwollae event, visiting the Jindo International Academic Conference, the Wando Junior Chamber of Commerce inauguration and resignation ceremony, and the Haenam ‘Memorial Monument for 118 Sacrificed Miners.’ First, Park encouraged the participants at the ‘Jindo Tradition and Humanity Culture, History and Structure’ International Academic Conference, jointly hosted by the Jindo Society celebrating its 25th anniversary, the National Namdo Gugak Center, and the Jindo Cultural City Center.

Park also attended the Wando Junior Chamber of Commerce inauguration and resignation ceremony, where he said in his congratulatory speech, “This is a festival gathering JC leaders from the southwestern region of Jeonnam, including Haenam and Jindo. The future of Wando, the island of marine healing, is bright.”
Additionally, he visited the Haenam Okmae Mine ‘Memorial Monument for 118 Sacrificed Miners,’ stating, “It was a great mistake that the Past Truth Investigation Commission failed to restore the honor of the victims. The Truth and Reconciliation Commission must investigate domestic forced labor issues and ensure the restoration of victims’ honor and compensation for bereaved families.”
‘Geumgwiwollae (金歸月來),’ known to have been founded by ‘political expert’ Park, means that lawmakers visit their constituencies on Friday nights to meet their constituents and return to Yeouido on Monday mornings.
Meanwhile, in Park’s constituency, the signature campaign urging a special prosecutor for Kim Gun-hee recorded the highest number of signatures in Jeonnam as of offline signatures on the 28th of last month, with 22,958 from Haenam and 12,754 from Wando and Jindo, totaling 70,955 signatures.
