Ukraine: "2000 North Korean Soldiers Join Russian Units to Participate in Combat"
On the 3rd (local time), Ukrainian authorities revealed that 2,000 North Korean soldiers deployed in the Ukraine war have joined Russian forces and are participating in combat.
According to the Ukrainian daily Kyiv Post, Andriy Chernyak, head of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR), stated this in a local radio interview.
He explained that 2,000 North Korean soldiers are assigned to Russian marine brigades and airborne divisions, participating in combat, while the remaining 9,000 remain as reserve forces.
He added, "They may not be on the front lines, but they are still contributing to acts of aggression against Ukraine and the killing of Ukrainian soldiers."
Earlier, Anatoliy Barilevych, Chief of Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, stated that more than 11,000 North Korean soldiers were deployed in Kursk, Russia, and some of them engaged in combat with Ukrainian forces.
