Park Chan-gu, Chairman of Kumho Petrochemical, Receives Korea Management Award for 'Best CEO'
Kumho Petrochemical Group announced on the 3rd that Chairman Park Chan-gu received the CEO Award at the '2024 Korea Management Awards' hosted by the Korea Management Association Consulting (KMAC).
At the Korea Management Awards, which recognizes companies demonstrating excellent management activities in various fields, 20 companies across 7 categories were honored this year.

Baek Jong-hoon, CEO of Kumho Petrochemical, received grand prizes in the areas of eco-friendly management and ESG management. The company has created achievements by practicing the value of sustainable management through various activities such as ▲reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 23% by 2030 compared to 2018 ▲life cycle assessment (LCA) of all products ▲development of NB latex based on bio raw materials ▲reviewing the RSM manufacturing business through pyrolysis of waste polystyrene.
CEO Baek Jong-hoon said, "We consider it meaningful to have achieved the feat of winning awards in three categories simultaneously at the most prestigious domestic ceremony," adding, "Kumho Petrochemical will continue to contemplate the advancement of sustainable management and create results."

Meanwhile, Kumho Petrochemical established a dedicated ESG and sustainable management organization in 2021 and formulated an ESG vision. In 2022, the company established a carbon-neutral growth strategy to respond to climate change and continues various activities related to climate change response and sustainable management.
