Pyeongtaek City Intensively Identifies and Supports Welfare Blind Spots During Winter Season
Strengthening Promotion Through Various Media
Linking Public Support for Vulnerable Households
Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 3rd that it will operate a 'Welfare Blind Spot Intensive Discovery and Support Period' from this month until February next year to efficiently support welfare crisis households struggling with the winter cold wave.
The main targets for discovery are households in need of assistance due to unemployment, severe illness, disability, and vulnerable residential groups living in warehouses, vinyl greenhouses, and containers, as well as welfare crisis households requiring help from national, local governments, and private sectors.
During this period, the city will operate a Welfare Blind Spot Discovery Day and conduct intensive promotional activities through various media such as buses, banners, newspapers, the website, and the bus information system. In particular, it plans to focus on discovering neighbors in need by cooperating with each eup, myeon, and dong administrative welfare center, local community security councils, tong/ri chiefs, and honorary social welfare officers.
Discovered crisis households will be linked to public support such as the National Basic Livelihood Security (customized benefits) and emergency assistance, and households with complex problems will be selected as integrated case management targets for continuous care. Customized services to meet the needs of the recipients and resolve crisis situations will also be provided through private resource connections.
