Hamyang-gun to Distribute 14.2 Billion KRW in 2024 Basic Public Interest Direct Payments
Payment Scheduled for 9,302 Farmers in December
Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, has finalized the payment scale for the 2024 Basic Public Interest Direct Payment at 9,302 farms, 6,038 hectares, and 14.2 billion KRW. After administrative procedures such as verifying payment accounts by eup and myeon, payments will be made sequentially to farms starting from the 2nd.
Last year, Hamyang-gun paid 13.7 billion KRW to 9,295 farms covering 6,149 hectares as Basic Public Interest Direct Payments. Starting this year, the Small-scale Farm Direct Payment will increase by 100,000 KRW per farm compared to last year, providing 1.3 million KRW per farm to small farmers with farmland areas of 0.5 hectares or less. Area-based direct payments are made at a fixed rate of 1 to 2.05 million KRW per hectare, depending on the farmland area.
Specifically, the small-scale farm direct payment covers 4,872 farms, 1,508 hectares, and 6.26 billion KRW, while the area-based direct payment covers 4,430 farms, 4,530 hectares, and 7.95 billion KRW.
The Basic Public Interest Direct Payment system is designed to support farmers who create public interest functions through agricultural activities by providing subsidies, thereby inducing the production, maintenance, and expansion of public value.
