Yongin City Designates Sinbong Intersection and Bojeong-dong Commercial District as Alley-type Shopping Streets No. 3 and 4
Benefits Including Onnuri Gift Certificate Merchant Registration and Commercial District Environment Improvement Support
Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 29th that it has designated the area around Sinbong-dong Intersection in Suji-gu and the commercial district in Bojeong-dong, Giheung-gu as the 3rd and 4th 'Alley-type Shopping Streets.'
'Alley-type Shopping Streets' are designated areas where stores operated by small business owners are densely concentrated above a certain level. Like traditional markets or shopping districts, they receive benefits such as registration for Onnuri Gift Certificates and participation in commercial district environment improvement and revitalization support projects.
The 3rd Alley-type Shopping Street is the 'Onnuri Shopping Street' covering 11,783㎡ around Sinbong Intersection in Sinbong-dong, Suji-gu. This area, which is a general residential zone, has 258 retail stores densely clustered.
The 4th Alley-type Shopping Street covers 15,537㎡ of the commercial district around the Bojeong-dong Administrative Welfare Center in Giheung-gu. It is an area centered on apartment complexes and shopping centers, with 248 academies and wholesale and retail stores concentrated there.
Earlier, the city designated the Bojeong-dong Cafe Street in Giheung-gu (1st) and Meonae Village in Dongcheon-dong, Suji-gu (2nd) as Alley-type Shopping Streets last month. The city plans to increase the number of Alley-type Shopping Streets, as registering as an Onnuri Gift Certificate affiliated store greatly helps increase customer inflow and boost sales for small business owners.
