Busan Gijang-gun Adds 'Voice Recognition Two-Way Emergency Bell'... Expanding Safe Public Restrooms
20 Public Restrooms in Parks and Tourist Sites... Linked to 112 Police Agency Situation Room
Busan Gijang-gun recently installed 'voice recognition two-way emergency bells' in 20 public restrooms to create safer public restroom facilities.
This project was promoted by securing special grants through the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's 'National Safety Green Public Restroom Leading Project' competition. The county invested a total project cost of 50 million KRW (25 million KRW from special grants and 25 million KRW from county funds) to install the emergency bells.
The 'voice recognition two-way emergency bell' is an emergency bell equipped with a two-way communication device including a microphone and speaker. When activated, it sounds an alarm and immediately connects in real-time to the 112 situation room, allowing the police to promptly check the situation on site and respond efficiently in emergencies.
In particular, the emergency bell can be activated simply by voice recognition of phrases such as "Help me" or "Please save me," quickly connecting to the police situation room, and it also includes a detection function to prevent illegal filming.
The county has continuously promoted the installation of two-way emergency bells to prevent crime in advance and create a safe restroom environment. Including the recent installation in 20 additional locations, a total of 54 public restrooms have been equipped, and there are plans to expand the installation of two-way emergency bells to all public restrooms in the future.
