Pyeongtaek City Designates 'Haeyang Gyeongchal Hangman-ro' as Honorary Road Name in Front of Pyeongtaek Maritime Police Station
550m Section of Seodong-daero, Sinyeong-ri, Poseung-eup Area
On the 28th, Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province announced that it has designated an honorary road name, 'Haeyang Gyeongchal Hangman-ro' (Marine Police Port Road), for the road in front of the Pyeongtaek Maritime Police Station. The honorary road name was given to a 550-meter section of Seodong-daero in Sinyeong-ri, Poseung-eup.
Although honorary road names are not used as official addresses, this system assigns nicknames to specific road sections to enhance the city's image and promote international exchange and business attraction. Accordingly, Pyeongtaek City explained that this is the third honorary road name designated in the city, following 'Wonsimchang-ro' and 'Sobang-gwan I Byeong-gon-gil'.
This honorary road naming honors the Marine Police for their contributions to citizen safety through various activities such as marine accident rescue, crime prevention, and environmental protection at Pyeongtaek Port.
