The agreement includes plans for organic cooperation in the commercialization, co-branding, sales, promotion, and regional coexistence of "Daejeon Kkumdori Ramen," which utilizes the city's representative character, the Kkumssi Family.
The city aims to develop 4 to 6 unique ramen products that the whole family can enjoy, targeting a launch in May next year. This will involve developing the ramen flavors, selecting the brand name and packaging design, and conducting sensory tests with citizens by early next year. At least two varieties, such as Jjamppong and beef ramen, will be introduced in phases.
The ramen will feature a powder soup with adjustable spiciness and incorporate the Kkumssi character story, setting "Daejeon Kkumdori Ramen" apart from others.
Additionally, with the launch of the ramen, a temporary "Kkumdori Ramen Shop" will open in Sojae-dong, Dong-gu, offering limited sales to citizens and tourists on weekends and during festivals. Special toppings and recipe variations will also be provided.
The Kkumdori Ramen Shop will operate on a trial basis until November next year, after which the city will evaluate market response and consider opening a dedicated store.
Lee Jangwoo, Mayor of Daejeon, said, "Daejeon Kkumdori Ramen is more than just food; it will be an innovative case of promoting and imprinting Daejeon as a city of flavorful fun through taste."
