'Buk-gu Literature Night' in the Biennale Area on the 10th of Next Month
An event celebrating author Han Kang's Nobel Prize win will be held in Buk-gu, Gwangju.
Buk-gu announced on the 28th that it will host the 'Buk-gu Literary Night with Media Facade' event on the 10th of next month at the Gwangju Biennale Geosigi Hall and Biennale Plaza.
On the day of Han Kang's Nobel Prize in Literature award ceremony, the event will feature a welcome speech, congratulatory remarks and performances by literary organizations, a screening of a video about Han Kang's life story, and a reading session. Throughout the venue, there will be a transcription zone and photo zone, as well as a promotional space for local independent bookstores.

Moon In, the mayor of Buk-gu, said, "This is a great achievement as the first Asian female author to receive the award and a national celebration achieved by a literary figure from Buk-gu," adding, "We will explore various ways to support the creative activities of residents aspiring to be writers in cooperation with the local community."
