Gwangju City Conducts Joint Civil-Government-Police Campaign for 'Women Violence Eradication Week'
Gwangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Bang Se-hwan) announced on the 27th that it held a joint civil-government-police campaign at the Gwangju Senior Welfare Center on the 26th in observance of the "Week for the Elimination of Violence Against Women" (November 25 to December 1).

View original imageAbout 40 participants, including the Women's Association Council, the police station, two support facilities for female victims of violence, an illegal filming monitoring team, and the Women's Friendly City Citizen Participation Group, joined the campaign to pledge together to create a safe Gwangju City free from violence against women.
The Week for the Elimination of Violence Against Women is designated by the UN to promote a violence-free environment. In South Korea, based on the Act on the Prevention of Violence Against Women, the week integrates Sexual Violence and Domestic Violence Elimination Week and is observed annually from November 25 to December 1.
This campaign aimed to create a safe community and raise awareness about violence against women by actively distributing promotional materials produced by victim support facilities, emphasizing the importance of violence prevention, response methods, and information about victim support facilities.
