Yeongyang-gun Hosts the 1st Yeongyang Byeolchunji Cup National Youth Basketball Tournament
Yeongyang-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, held the 1st Yeongyang Byeolcheonji Cup National Youth Basketball Tournament from November 23 to 24 at the Yeongyang County Citizens' Hall and auxiliary stadium.

View original imageThis tournament, the first to be held in Yeongyang-gun, featured a total of 24 teams divided into four divisions (2nd-3rd grade division, 4th grade division, 5th grade division, and 6th grade division), with six teams in each division. The games were conducted in a tournament format through group leagues, and the champions of each division were Bundang Samsung, Asan Samsung, Bundang Samsung, and Wonju DB teams, respectively.
About 300 visitors, including youth players and their parents, stayed in Yeongyang for one night and two days to participate in the tournament schedule. Former national basketball player Woo Ji-won visited to encourage the youth basketball players. Yeongyang-gun achieved results by hosting this tournament, contributing to the discovery of youth basketball talents and revitalizing the local economy during the winter tourism off-season.
