Gwangju City Holds 2024 Gwangju Youth Policy Committee Regular Meeting
Gwangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Bang Se-hwan) announced on the 26th that it held the ‘2024 Gwangju City Youth Policy Committee Regular Meeting’ at the City Hall Eum Hall on the 22nd.

View original imageAt the meeting, 14 youth policy committee members attended, including Vice Mayor Kim Chung-beom, who is the chairman, heads of related departments, youth policy experts, representatives of youth councils, and young self-employed individuals.
Through this meeting, the committee had active discussions on the youth policies promoted by the city. The city reported on the results of the 2024 youth policies, including being selected as an excellent space for the ‘Gyeonggi-do Youth Space Activation Project’ for two consecutive years, securing 40 million KRW in project funds, and operating the ‘Visiting Youth Support Center’ for marginalized youth. The committee also reviewed and approved the 2025 Gwangju City youth policy implementation plan.
In particular, the city announced its 2025 plans, which include projects to strengthen youth capabilities (such as operating an AI mock interview experience center), expanding youth support center programs, enhancing youth autonomous activities in collaboration with the local community (such as autonomous clubs and youth broadcasting stations), and fostering youth entrepreneurs utilizing local resources.

A Gwangju City official stated, “We will implement policies led proactively by youth to alleviate the socio-economic anxieties of Gwangju’s youth and create a city where youth are happy, encompassing culture, welfare, jobs, and all aspects of life.”
