Uijeongbu-si Holds Public Deliberation Committee Meeting
Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 26th that it held a Public Deliberation Committee (hereinafter referred to as the Committee) meeting in the city hall's medium conference room on the 22nd.
This was the first meeting since the committee members were appointed on the 18th of last month, and the members elected Yoon-yong Kim as the chairman and Hyun-hee Choi as the vice-chairman as the first agenda item.
In particular, the members agreed that the Committee should contribute to fostering a sound public deliberation culture in Uijeongbu City as a trusted advisory body.
To this end, they decided to hold weekly subcommittee meetings and prioritize establishing review criteria that can fairly handle operational regulations and various public deliberation topics.
The next full meeting, scheduled for December, will be an opportunity to listen to and discuss the opinions of various stakeholders, including experts, public officials, and proposers, regarding the received resident proposal (request to open a public deliberation forum for citizen participation plans on the utilization of the US military return site).
